MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is looking for an Emergency Medicine Physician to fill their locum need in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This assignment offers the flexibility of open shift coverage at a busy Level III trauma center with Epic EMR and a steady patient volume.
Opportunity Highlights
- Emergency Medicine locum tenens role
- Trauma Level III facility, 250-bed hospital
- ED volume approximately 77 patients per day
- Shift length: 9- & 12-hour shifts with no on-call required
- Shifts available in July and August, with specific dates to be confirmed
- EMR: Epic
- Teaching hospital environment with potential for teaching responsibilities
- Transfer out less than 3% of patients
Schedule Details
- Open FTE with flexibility for various shifts
- Key shifts include: July 7th 7p-7a, July 10th 5p-2a, July 11th 8a-5p, July 12th 8a-5p, July 12th 7p-7a, July 27th 5p-2a, as well as August shifts including 5p-2a and 7p-7a openings.
- Peak hours during 11a-11p
Clinical Scope
- Emergency department evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of patients
- Management of a broad spectrum of emergency presentations in a community hospital setting
- Supervision of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- EMR documentation in Epic
- No inpatient responsibilities or outreach duties
Requirements
- MD degree
- Active Iowa medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- US DEA registration with Iowa address and schedules 2-5
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Eligible for licensure in Iowa with accepted license type
