Title: MIG Welder

Sterling Engineering is looking for a MIG Welder in Crest Hill, IL. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on welder to join a manufacturing team in a direct-hire position. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG welding, be comfortable working in a production environment, and take pride in producing quality welds while following established safety procedures.
Job Duties:
- Perform MIG welding on metal components and assemblies according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Prepare metal surfaces and materials for welding.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Identify and address welding defects or inconsistencies.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with production team members to meet quality and production goals.
Qualifications:
- Previous MIG welding experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
- Familiarity with welding equipment, tools, and metal fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic welding issues.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with welding.
