Chris M Electric LLC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Service Manager to lead and grow our Service Department.
This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced electrical professional who understands both the field and the business side of electrical service. The ideal candidate will have extensive electrical experience, strong knowledge of the NEC, excellent customer-service skills, and the ability to lead technicians while developing new service opportunities.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the Service Department, provide technical leadership to our technicians, maintain strong customer relationships, and help grow the department.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Service Department Leadership
- Manage the daily operations of the Service Department.
- Schedule and dispatch service technicians based on workload, skill level, location, and customer needs.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and hold technicians accountable to company standards.
- Monitor technician productivity, performance, and job quality.
- Provide technical support and guidance to technicians in the field.
- Help establish and maintain efficient service procedures and workflows.
- Utilize BuildOps software and other company systems to maintain accurate schedules, work orders, estimates, and service records.
Customer Relations & Sales
- Serve as a primary point of contact for service customers.
- Handle incoming customer calls and help determine the appropriate service response.
- Meet with customers to evaluate electrical needs and recommend solutions.
- Develop and present service estimates and proposals.
- Identify opportunities for additional work and grow service revenue.
- Build long-term relationships with residential and commercial customers.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
Electrical & Technical Support
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide field technicians with technical direction.
- Review electrical installations and service work for quality and code compliance.
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Apply and understand current NEC requirements and applicable local electrical codes.
- Assist technicians with inspections, permitting, and code-related questions.
- Help ensure service work is completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with applicable codes and company standards.
- Review completed work and help ensure projects are ready for inspection.
Estimating & Department Management
- Prepare labor and material estimates for service work.
- Review and approve service estimates and proposals.
- Monitor service job costs, margins, and profitability.
- Manage material and equipment requirements for service work.
- Review completed work orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Help develop processes that improve service department efficiency and profitability.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and developing service technicians.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
- 10+ years of professional electrical experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical service, supervision, or management.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose problems logically and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of electrical installations, wiring methods, equipment, controls, and electrical testing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and manage technicians while maintaining accountability and professionalism.
- Ability to estimate labor, materials, and service work.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Professional appearance and the ability to represent CME professionally in front of customers, contractors, and other business partners.
Preferred:
- Electrical Journeyman License/Card strongly preferred.
- Experience managing an electrical service department.
- Experience with commercial electrical service.
- Experience with service estimating and sales.
- Experience using BuildOps or similar field-service management software.
- Familiarity with permitting and electrical inspections.
- Experience developing service department processes and procedures.
- Proven history of growing service revenue and customer relationships.
THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS ROLE:
We are looking for someone who can talk to a customer in the morning, help a technician troubleshoot a difficult electrical problem in the afternoon, and review the numbers at the end of the day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is a combination of office management, customer interaction, and field support.
The Service Manager should expect to regularly visit job sites, meet with customers, assist technicians, and respond to service-related issues.
The position may occasionally require:
- Working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
- Overtime, evenings, or weekends when service demands require it.
- Local travel throughout the business day.
