Position Summary
Family First Roadside is looking for an experienced, reliable, responsible, and honest Roadside Assistance Technician to join our team.
This is a field-based position assisting stranded motorists with common roadside emergencies. We need someone who can be trusted to work independently, take care of company equipment, treat customers' vehicles with respect, and provide professional service on every call.
We would especially like to find someone who lives locally in the Richmond area or surrounding communities and is familiar with the area.
Previous roadside assistance, automotive, tire service, or similar hands-on experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle jump starts and battery assistance
- Change flat tires using proper and safe procedures
- Perform vehicle lockouts
- Complete emergency fuel deliveries
- Respond promptly to assigned roadside service calls
- Safely operate a company service vehicle
- Inspect vehicles before beginning service
- Take required photos and properly document service calls
- Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch
- Safely work around traffic, highways, parking lots, and other roadside environments
- Properly maintain company tools, equipment, and supplies
- Follow all company safety and service procedures
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous roadside assistance, automotive, tire service, or similar hands-on experience
- Has a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Preferably has at least 5 years of driving experience
- Lives locally in Richmond or the surrounding area (preferred)
- Is familiar with Richmond and surrounding roads and communities
- Is honest, dependable, responsible, and trustworthy
- Is punctual and reports to work as scheduled
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Takes responsibility and accountability for their work
- Has strong customer service and communication skills
- Can safely handle tires, tools, fuel containers, and roadside equipment
- Is comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
- Can use a smartphone for GPS, dispatching, communication, photos, and documentation
- Is willing to complete required background, driving-record, and insurance eligibility checks
Work Schedule
12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Applicants must be dependable and available to work their assigned schedule. Because our customers rely on us during roadside emergencies, attendance, punctuality, and reliability are extremely important.
