Bring Your Soldering Skills to a Team That Builds What No One Else Can
West Coast Magnetics is a fast-growing, close-knit manufacturer specializing in custom electronic assemblies for the medical, aerospace, semiconductor, communications, and test & measurement industries. When off-the-shelf parts won't cut it, our team engineers the solution — and skilled soldering technicians are at the heart of how we make that happen.
We're looking for a Soldering Technician who takes pride in precise, repeatable, high-quality work and wants to build complex coils, transformers, and assemblies that go into critical, high-performance applications.
Why Soldering Experience Matters Here
This isn't high-volume, low-complexity assembly. Our work is high-mix, high-complexity, which means:
• You'll solder intricate coil and transformer assemblies where accuracy and consistency are non-negotiable
• Every joint and connection needs to meet exacting quality standards — the first time, every time
• You'll read and interpret detailed work instructions and translate them into flawless finished products
• Your solder work directly supports mission-critical industries like aerospace, medical devices, and semiconductor manufacturing
If you already have soldering experience, you'll fit right in. Steady hands, attention to detail, and a genuine understanding of solder technique are what set our technicians apart.
What You'll Do
• Build complex coils and assemblies from start to finish with high levels of quality and repeatability
• Solder, tin, strip, cut wire, wind, glue, coat, and varnish as required by the job
• Inspect your own work to ensure 100% accuracy and compliance with work instructions
• Document first article builds and pre-runs with clear, detailed notes
• Test complex coils and transformers
• Keep safety front and center, following all safety rules and procedures
• Work efficiently without sacrificing quality
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Collaborate well with your supervisor and teammates
What You Bring
• Soldering experience strongly preferred — comfort and skill with a soldering iron is central to this role
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math and reading skills
• Ability to read and follow detailed technical work instructions
• A quality-first mindset and pride in getting the job right the first time
What We Offer
• Competitive pay: $20.93–$27.00/hour
• 401(k) with company matching
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Life insurance
• Paid time off
• Tuition reimbursement
• Referral program
• A genuine small-company culture where your work — and your craftsmanship — is noticed and valued
