About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Trauma Surgeon to join our client in Massachusetts for a 60-day assignment starting Dec 1, 2026. This role involves managing trauma inpatients, responding to trauma activations, and providing emergency general surgery consults. The schedule typically runs from 7a-4p, with additional weekday and weekend call responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage 30-50 trauma inpatients daily, with two attendings covering during service hours.
- Respond to 10-20 trauma activations in any 24-hour period, with 90-95% being blunt trauma.
- Provide coverage for emergency general surgery consults, up to 8 daily.
Additional Information
- Board Certification in Surgical Critical Care required.
- EMR: Epic
- Work setting is primarily inpatient.
- Weekday Call: 4p-7a
- Weekend Call: 6a-7a
- Patient Volume: Manage 30-50 trauma inpatients, 10-20 trauma activations, and up to 8 emergency general surgery consults per shift/call.
- Staffing Mix: Two attendings cover during the service during the day.
