FACILITY INFORMATION - EMR System: Epic
- Support Staff Available: RN Navigators, MAs, 2 Physicians, 4 Midlevels
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE - Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Credentialing Timeline: 90+ days (approx. 3 months)
REQUIRED PROCEDURES - General CV/thoracic surgery – open
- Coronary artery bypass surgery – on pump
- Valvular repair
- Valvular replacement
JOB REQUIREMENTS - Board: Board Certified PA (required)
- Licenses: Active WA License highly preferred; will consider those obtaining license
- Experience: Cardiothoracic Surgery experience, including OR and ICU management
- Other Qualifications: Local candidate highly preferred; clean malpractice/background; NPDB Self-Query report required
Duties & Responsibilities - Provide surgical first-assist for cardiothoracic procedures (CABG, valve repair/replacement, etc.)
- Manage postoperative patients in the ICU and acute care settings
- Round on hospital patients (5-10/day) and perform admissions (0-3/day)
- Participate in clinic support as needed (5% of time)
- Take night call (5p-7a) on weekdays and weekends, covering cardiothoracic emergencies and consults
