The Department of Ophthalmology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, part of Advocate Healthone of the largest non-profit health systems in the United Statesis seeking a Neuro-Ophthalmologist to join our full-time academic faculty at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. This position supports the departments mission of delivering exceptional patient care while advancing education, collaboration, and innovation within a growing academic health system.
Position Highlights
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex visual disorders related to neurologic disease, including brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other disorders of the nervous system
- Evaluate patients with unexplained vision loss, diplopia, visual field defects, and headaches
- Collaborate closely with neurosurgery, neurology, otolaryngology, and other subspecialists across the institution
- Serve as a consultant to referring physicians and provide direct patient care as part of multidisciplinary treatment teams
- Teach and mentor ophthalmology residents, fellows, and medical students
- Participate in clinical research and scholarly activity in a supportive academic environment

Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology or Neurology Residency
- Fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology
- Board certification or board eligibility in Ophthalmology
- Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered, team-based approach to care
