Essential Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate heavy commercial vehicles (Tractor-Trailers or Straight Trucks with manual transmissions) in varied metropolitan traffic and winter weather conditions.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee strict DOT safety compliance.
- Load and unload fuel or oil products efficiently, maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols regarding hazardous materials.
- Utilize integrated on-board computer applications to track routing, manage invoices, and accurately record logs.
Candidate Requirements
- Licensure: Valid New York State (NYS) CDL (Class A or Class B) with a clean driving record.
- Required Commercial Experience: A minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience operating:
- Tractor-Trailer (2 years required) - must be experienced with Manual Transmissions (No E-Restriction/Manual restriction on license).
- OR Straight Truck (2 years required) - must be experienced with Manual Transmissions (No E-Restriction/Manual restriction on license).
- Endorsements & Credentials:
- Valid Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements (or combined X endorsement).
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card.
- Valid, up-to-date DOT Medical Card.
- Core Skills: Must be dependable, diligent, highly reliable, and computer literate (for utilizing standard logging devices and routing software).
- Education: High School Diploma or College coursework is preferred.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Must pass an mandatory Background Clearance, Drug Test, and an on-the-road practical driving examination.
