PATIENT INFORMATION
- Case Mix: Inpatient cardiac and thoracic surgical cases
- Rounding: Included (with APP support, surgeon cosigns)
- Phone Consults: Yes (ER and CVICU consult as needed)
FACILITY INFORMATION
- Specialty Backup Available: Surgical PA (first call for floor), CTS APP (in CVICU)
- Support Staff Available: APPs for rounding, surgical PAs for floor, CTS APPs in CVICU
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
- Cardiac Surgery
- Thoracic Surgery (Open, VATS, Robotic)
- ECMO
- Impella
- TEVAR
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Board: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Licenses: Active FL License
- DEA / CDS: Active DEA required
- Experience: Minimum 50 cases of cardio and 50 cases of thoracic in the past 2 years
- Other Qualifications: Updated CV, Lee Health Signed Attestation
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform inpatient consults and inpatient surgical cases Monday through Friday
- Conduct pre and postoperative rounding with the APP, adding required notes and cosigning
- Provide weekend rounding on all patients with a PA and perform emergent surgical cases
- Evaluate and manage all new consults as they arise
- Cover Monday through Thursday night call intermittently as part of an equitable rotation
