Director, RPO Sales

Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) & Strategic Workforce Solutions

James David Staffing (JDS)

Remote | US-Based (Preference is Michigan-based)

About James David Staffing

James David Staffing is a Michigan-based staffing and RPO firm built by industry leaders who believe hiring is still fundamentally human. We are a growing, agile organization with national capability, deep recruiting and operations experience, and a delivery model centered on quality, accountability, and partnership.

Our team is fully U.S.-based. We do not offshore delivery. Our recruiters bring an average of 10+ years of experience, and our leadership team has operated in complex, high-volume, high-expectation environments for major employers. We are proud to be a two-time SIA Best Staffing Firms to Work For winner (2025 & 2026), and we have built our reputation by doing the work: solving hiring problems, protecting candidate experience, and becoming a true extension of our clients’ teams.

We are now looking for an experienced RPO sales professional who can help us expand that footprint.

The Opportunity

This is not a volume sales role built around generic outreach and transactional staffing deals. This is a strategic growth role for a proven business development leader who understands the RPO market, knows how buying decisions are made, and has the relationships, credibility, and persistence to create meaningful opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can open doors, leverage an existing network, generate conversations with the right executive stakeholders, and position JDS for inclusion in RFPs, RFIs, direct-award discussions, and strategic workforce solution evaluations.

The right person will be excited by the chance to help shape growth within an entrepreneurial firm that can move quickly, tailor solutions, and deliver at a level that competes with much larger organizations.

What You Will Do

Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy focused on RPO, project-based recruiting, talent acquisition consulting, and related workforce solutions
Build, maintain, and activate a strong network of decision-makers across TA, HR, Procurement, MSP, and business leadership functions
Generate qualified opportunities through relationships, market knowledge, referrals, outbound strategy, and industry presence
Secure invitations to RFPs, RFIs, supplier reviews, and strategic workforce conversations
Lead and manage the full business development cycle, from prospect identification through signed agreement and implementation handoff
Identify organizations with complex hiring needs where JDS can provide differentiated value
Position JDS credibly against larger national and global competitors by articulating our strengths in delivery, quality, flexibility, speed, U.S.-based support, and executive involvement
Partner with leadership to shape pursuit strategy, messaging, solution design, and proposal direction
Help guide proposal and presentation strategy for RPO pursuits, including client-specific positioning and win themes
Maintain a disciplined pipeline and provide clear visibility into targets, activity, progression, and forecast
Represent the company with professionalism and credibility in executive meetings, networking settings, conferences, and virtual presentations
Stay close to market trends, competitor movement, buyer expectations, and shifts in RPO/MSP/procurement models

What Makes This Role Attractive

For the right person, this is a chance to sell something real.

At JDS, you will not be asked to hide behind inflated claims, offshore delivery, or a bloated process that slows down execution. You will be representing a firm that:

Delivers with experienced, U.S.-based recruiting professionals
Has leadership that understands operations, not just sales
Knows how to support complex hiring environments
Can customize solutions rather than force clients into a rigid model
Has the agility of a small firm with the professionalism and capability of a much larger partner
Values long-term partnerships over short-term wins
Gives strong sales talent direct access to decision-makers internally, allowing faster strategy, pricing, and pursuit alignment
Offers the opportunity to help shape growth and have a real voice in how the business expands

This is a strong fit for someone who wants more ownership, more authenticity, and more room to build.

Minimum Requirements

7+ years of business development experience in RPO - must have experience selling Recruitment Process Outsourcing (this is not staffing sales)
Demonstrated success selling complex talent solutions into mid-market and/or enterprise clients
Existing network of relevant buyer-side and/or influencer relationships across talent acquisition, HR, procurement, MSP, or executive leadership
Proven ability to generate opportunities through relationships and market credibility, not just cold activity
Track record of earning access to RFP opportunities, supplier evaluations, and high-level buying conversations
Strong understanding of how RPO deals are structured, sold, and implemented
Experience navigating longer sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and consultative solution design
Excellent executive presence, communication skills, and business judgment
Ability to operate independently in a remote, entrepreneurial environment
Willingness to be held accountable to meaningful pipeline and conversion standards

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years in RPO or strategic talent solution sales
Experience selling into manufacturing, engineering, professional, operations, or other high-demand labor environments
Background working with enterprise procurement teams, MSP environments, or formal bid processes
Experience leading or significantly contributing to RFP, RFI, and finalist presentations
Familiarity with both fully outsourced RPO and modular/on-demand recruitment solutions
Established reputation in the industry that can accelerate warm introductions and trust-building

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured by more than activity. We are looking for someone who can create momentum that leads to revenue.

Key performance expectations include:

Consistently building a high-quality pipeline of qualified RPO and strategic workforce opportunities
Creating access to new buyer relationships and decision-makers
Securing invitations to RFPs, RFIs, and formal solution discussions
Advancing opportunities through a disciplined sales process and executive engagement
Converting credible opportunities into new client partnerships
Representing the JDS brand in a way that strengthens market trust and long-term positioning

Standards for the Role

This role requires maturity, discipline, and credibility. We are not looking for someone who relies on generic sales language, inflated promises, or surface-level activity.

The person in this seat must be able to:

Open doors through new and existing relationships
Speak credibly about business problems, not just recruiting tactics
Understand what executive buyers care about
Build trust quickly
Protect the company’s reputation in the market
Bring opportunities that fit our model and values
Operate with urgency, ownership, and accountability

Why Join JDS

James David Staffing is at a stage where the right sales leader can make a visible impact. You will be joining a growing firm with a strong foundation, a clear point of view, and delivery credibility that stands up in competitive environments.

You will have the ability to help shape growth, influence strategy, and win business for a firm that values quality, partnership, and doing things the right way.

If you are an experienced RPO sales professional with a strong network, strong instincts, and the ability to create real opportunities, we would welcome a conversation.
