About the Role:

The Sous Chef plays a critical role in supporting the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. This position is responsible for assisting in menu development, overseeing food preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. The Sous Chef will lead kitchen staff during service, ensuring that dishes are prepared to exacting standards, particularly focusing on fine dining and Italian cuisine. This role requires a strong ability to manage kitchen operations, coordinate with suppliers, and maintain inventory to support menu plans. Ultimately, the Sous Chef contributes to delivering an exceptional dining experience that aligns with the restaurant’s culinary vision and reputation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Head Chef, or Executive Chef in a fine dining environment.
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and menu development.
Demonstrated expertise in food preparation techniques and recipe execution.
Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution.
Experience working in high-volume or Michelin-starred restaurants.
Advanced knowledge of menu planning and cost control.
Proficiency in multiple cuisines beyond Italian.
Experience with kitchen management software and inventory systems.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring timely and high-quality food preparation.
Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff to uphold hygiene standards and culinary excellence.
