About the Role:

The Service Journeyman Plumber plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This position requires a deep understanding of plumbing codes, system diagnostics, and repair techniques to ensure safe and efficient water supply and waste removal. The journeyman plumber will be responsible for troubleshooting complex plumbing issues, installing new systems, and performing routine maintenance to prevent future problems. Success in this role directly impacts the health, safety, and comfort of clients by ensuring reliable plumbing infrastructure. The role demands a commitment to quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship program or equivalent experience as a journeyman plumber.
Valid journeyman plumber license or certification as required by the state of employment.
Proven experience in diagnosing, repairing, and installing plumbing systems in residential and commercial environments.
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and building codes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with advanced plumbing technologies such as water filtration systems, backflow prevention, and green plumbing solutions..
Strong customer service skills with a track record of positive client interactions.
Ability to mentor apprentices or junior plumbers and provide on-the-job training.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, and broken fixtures in residential and commercial properties.
Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and related appliances and fixtures.
Interpret blueprints, building codes, and plumbing schematics to plan and execute installations and repairs accurately.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure plumbing systems operate efficiently and comply with safety regulations.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate plumbing work and provide expert advice on system upgrades or replacements.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job for reporting and billing purposes.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and local plumbing codes to ensure all work meets regulatory standards.
