C.A.R. Hospital is seeking an A/B-Level Automotive Technician in DeKalb, IL, with intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills. Earn $32-$50 per flagged hour with weekly pay, paid training, and ASE reimbursement. This established repair shop offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401(k) with a 3% match, and a Monday-Friday schedule. Work primarily on domestic and Asian vehicles, with some European and fleet service.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose check engine lights, misfires, drivability concerns, and electrical issues at a level appropriate to your experience.
Perform general automotive repairs, maintenance, and vehicle inspections.
Complete engine and transmission removal and replacement, timing chain repairs, and internal engine repairs within your demonstrated capabilities.
Perform EVAP smoke testing and diagnose ABS and airbag system concerns.
Complete vehicle computer programming as appropriate to your skill level.
Perform digital vehicle inspections and document findings using Tekmetric.
Work toward a production target of 40 billed hours per week.
Qualifications
Automotive repair experience consistent with an A-Level or B-Level Technician role.
Intermediate to advanced diagnostic skills, with advanced capability expected for A-Level candidates.
Experience servicing domestic and Asian vehicles; European vehicle familiarity is helpful.
ASE certification required.
Own basic automotive tools and specialty tools appropriate to your experience and assigned work.
Prior digital vehicle inspection experience preferred; completing digital inspections is required.

Flat-rate pay: $32-$50 per flagged hour, based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and technician level.
