We are seeking a Heavy Duty Truck Technician to support a mixed heavy-duty fleet in a fleet maintenance shop. Reporting to the Operations Manager and Shop Foreman, this role will service Class 7–8 trucks with a balanced focus on preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on Class 7–8 trucks.
- Repair and service diesel engines, brake systems, air systems, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform electrical repairs and electronic diagnostics.
- Conduct welding and fabrication as needed.
- Coordinate parts requirements and support timely repairs.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain technical documentation.
- Follow safety requirements and support inspection and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in heavy-duty repair.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, electronic diagnostics, brake systems, air systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to complete technical documentation.
- Safety awareness and commitment to compliance.
- Effective communication skills.
