Job Description
We are seeking a Marine Diesel Mechanic to support a small maintenance team within a shipyard service department. This role will service commercial fishing vessels, workboats, and ferries while performing reliable engine, mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, and mechanical maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair marine diesel engines.
- Perform preventive maintenance and engine overhauls.
- Service fuel injection and fuel systems.
- Repair and maintain cooling systems.
- Troubleshoot marine electrical systems.
- Inspect and repair hydraulic systems.
- Inspect parts and components for serviceability.
- Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in marine diesel mechanics.
- Experience with diesel engine diagnostics and marine engine repair.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with fuel injection systems and electrical troubleshooting.
- Technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
