This temp-to-hire opportunity gives you the chance to step into the role, build relationships with the team, learn the business, and demonstrate your strengths while being considered for long-term employment. The client is looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys variety, and is willing to pitch in wherever needed.
What You'll Do
Take primary responsibility for Accounts Payable
Provide backup support for payroll processing and accounts receivable
Perform bank reconciliations
Reconcile corporate credit cards
Complete benefit and other account reconciliations
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and post journal entries
Reconcile all general ledger accounts
Identify discrepancies or unusual activity and help research variances
Provide accounting support and documentation during audits
Pitch in with additional responsibilities as part of a small accounting team
Qualifications
2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience
Strong Accounts Payable and reconciliation experience
Experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger
Experience pulling and reviewing accounting reports
Ability to recognize discrepancies or unusual results rather than simply running reports
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field combined with relevant accounting experience
Strong communication skills and comfortable working directly with the Controller
Reliable, accountable, dependable, and responsive
Team-player mentality with a willingness to help wherever needed
Comfortable working in a small, collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves environment
QuickBooks or Sage experience highly preferred
