Finance Associate
About the Opportunity
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in Houston to hire a Finance Associate. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional who is naturally curious, analytical, and eager to gain broad exposure across the business.
Rather than focusing on one narrow area of finance, this position will support a variety of business reporting, investor requests, financial analysis, and special projects. The ideal candidate enjoys taking information from multiple sources, making sense of it, and turning it into clear, accurate, and presentable deliverables.
The company is open-minded regarding background. While commercial banking experience is preferred, the bigger priority is finding someone smart, curious, adaptable, and capable of learning quickly.
What You'll Be Doing
Support financial and business reporting initiatives across the organization.
Assist with information and reporting requests from investors and internal leadership.
Gather financial and operational information from multiple sources.
Organize and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Transform raw information into professional, presentation-ready reports and analyses.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and exploratory projects.
Research and investigate questions that may not have an established process or immediate answer.
Work on projects with changing priorities and quick turnaround expectations.
Partner with finance and other areas of the business to deliver accurate information efficiently.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of professional experience in finance, banking, accounting, financial analysis, or a related environment.
Commercial banking experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to gather, organize, reconcile, and present financial information.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.
Naturally curious with a willingness to ask questions and dig into unfamiliar topics.
Comfortable working on projects that may not have a defined roadmap.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability and desire to learn quickly and take on increasing responsibility.
Who Will Excel in This Role?
This opportunity is particularly well suited for someone who is early in their finance career and wants broader exposure rather than being limited to one specific function.
The hiring team values curiosity, adaptability, and trainability over having a perfectly matched background. Someone coming from commercial banking, credit analysis, corporate finance, financial analysis, or a similar finance-focused position could transition well into this opportunity.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Build broad experience across corporate finance, reporting, financial analysis, and investor-related projects.
Work on different projects rather than performing the same responsibilities every day.
Gain exposure to business and financial information across the organization.
Join a team willing to train someone with the right aptitude and curiosity.
Develop a versatile finance skill set that can create multiple long-term career paths.
