LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client in Detroit, MI in their search for an experienced Staff Accountant. This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate and paid parking.
We are seeking an accounting professional with strong attention to detail, solid general accounting experience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced accounting and finance team.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
Complete balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
Research and resolve account discrepancies
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
Assist with audit requests and financial reporting
Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
Collaborate with accounting and finance team members on special projects and reporting needs
Qualifications
Previous Staff Accountant or general accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not required
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
