Job Description
We are seeking an Engagement Manager with a strong background in corporate finance, with a strong emphasis on Treasury, to lead finance transformation engagements for Fortune 500 clients in the US. The individual will serve as the primary bridge between Treasury and Finance stakeholders and MathCo’s data, AI and technology teams, translating treasury operations into data, analytics and automation solutions that improve cash visibility, forecast accuracy and liquidity decisions. This role requires a blend of functional depth, technical fluency, and client-facing leadership.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Act as a trusted advisor to Treasury and Finance leadership, framing business priorities into structured, phased solution approaches – from discovery and assessment through build and scale.
- Lead current-state assessments of treasury and finance processes – such as cash positioning, cash forecasting, liquidity management, bank account management, FX exposure, and intercompany settlement – and define the target-state operating model, data flows, and roadmap.
- The individual will work closely with Treasury, FP&A, Accounting, Tax, and Finance IT teams to design and deliver solutions spanning cash flow forecasting, working capital analytics, bank and payment data integration, and treasury reporting.
- Translate treasury requirements into data and system requirements across ERP (SAP S/4HANA), treasury management systems, and banking platforms, partnering with data engineering and architecture teams on the integration approach.
- Identify and shape AI and automation use cases – such as ML-driven cash forecasting, variance explanation, reconciliation, and exception management – with a clear path to value and adoption.
- Synthesize findings into compelling storylines and recommendations for senior leadership, including the Treasurer and finance executives.
- Manage cross-functional onshore and offshore teams, owning engagement governance, scope, risks, and timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Build long-term relationships with stakeholders by providing strategic insights and thought leadership, and identify opportunities to extend impact across the finance function.
Skills Required
- Solid understanding of corporate treasury – cash and liquidity management, cash forecasting, bank account management, and FX exposure.
- Broad grounding in corporate finance processes such as FP&A, record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and working capital.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Finance / Treasury or treasury management systems (e.g., Kyriba, FIS Quantum, ION) is a plus.
- Experience with finance or treasury data and analytics – forecasting, reporting, or dashboards; familiarity with SQL, Python, or BI tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with bank connectivity and payment formats, hedge accounting, or treasury controls is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Strong client-facing communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics into actionable insights.
- Ability to frame ambiguous business questions into structured problem statements and guide analyses accordingly.
- Comfort working in cross-functional, matrixed environments with Finance, Treasury, and IT stakeholders.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills.
Role
- Engagement Manager, Finance & Treasury
Education / Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; an MBA or CTP is a plus.
Experience managing client engagements or leading small teams.
