Responsibilities:
- Maintain, erect, repair, align, install, and troubleshoot rides, attractions, and mechanical systems, following manufacturer and engineering specifications to ensure safe and efficient operation with minimal supervision.
- Apply industrial maintenance and millwright principles to the installation, alignment, inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of rotating equipment, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, drives, and other mechanical systems.
- Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and repairs of rides and attractions to ensure safe operation and promptly notify Management and/or Engineering of any hazards, defects, or ride-related issues that may endanger Guests, Team Members, or the general public.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using established troubleshooting techniques.
- Maintain OSHA safety standards, ride manufacturer requirements, and Six Flags safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct winterization, offseason maintenance, equipment overhauls, and major refurbishment projects on ride units, stations, and support equipment.
- Perform precision alignment, rigging, fabrication, welding, equipment assembly, and component replacement as required.
- Ensure all rides and attractions are clean, visually compliant with manufacturer specifications, and meet Guest and management expectations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, and documentation daily.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of related experience in industrial maintenance, millwright work, amusement ride maintenance, manufacturing, heavy equipment, or a similar mechanical maintenance environment.
- Demonstrated experience with equipment installation, machinery alignment, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial mechanical systems.
- Must have tools and equipment necessary to perform required duties.
- Possess skills and working knowledge in one or more of the following trades:
- Industrial Maintenance
- Millwright
- Mechanical Maintenance
- Electrical Systems
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Welding and Fabrication
- Automotive Repair
- Small Engine Repair
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as operational needs dictate.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism around Guests, co-workers, and management.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles and equipment, including forklifts, aerial lifts, golf carts, cars, and trucks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Millwright certification, industrial maintenance certification, or equivalent mechanical trade experience.
- Experience with precision shaft alignment, bearing replacement, power transmission systems, rigging, and equipment installation.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motors, and industrial automation systems.
- Familiarity with predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
Physical Requirements
- Required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must possess the mental and physical capacity to perform duties at heights exceeding 150 feet.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions.
- Must possess the physical dexterity necessary to operate hand tools, precision instruments, power tools, machinery, and motor vehicles.
- Must demonstrate strong safety awareness and the ability to work with a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
