- Serve as a spotter/signal person for manlifts, scissor lifts, and other aerial equipment—maintaining constant communication with the operator and monitoring for hazards, overhead obstacles, and personnel in the work zone.
- Perform fire watch duties during welding, cutting, grinding, or other hot work: monitor the area for sparks/fires before, during, and after operations; maintain proper extinguishing equipment readiness; and follow all hot-work permit procedures.
- Perform general labor duties including site cleanup, material handling and staging, debris removal, tool and equipment transport, basic site preparation, and assisting other trades as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific rules.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or crew leads.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Reliable transportation and ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices (preferred).
- Ability to obtain or currently hold relevant certifications is a plus (e.g., aerial lift/spotter training, fire watch, OSHA 10, welding helper experience).
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check (if required by the company or client).
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment (typically up to 50 lbs regularly; heavier loads with assistance).
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working at heights or in confined areas as needed.
- Comfortable working around welding, cutting, and other hot-work operations while maintaining focus during fire watch and spotting duties.
Work Environment
