Technologist - Scientific Ops
Location: Sparks, MD
Pay Rate: $22.60/hour
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 PM-5:00 AM
Work Arrangement: On-Site
Overtime: Must be available to work overtime as required
Safety Shoes: Required
Training Schedule
- Orientation and training will be held Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM for one week, regardless of the regular overnight work schedule.
- Candidates must be able to accommodate the daytime training schedule.
Position Overview
The Technologist - Scientific Ops is responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products while operating production equipment and following established manufacturing procedures. This position performs material preparation, batch processing, in-process testing, and equipment/process validation in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble clinical and commercial products according to established procedures and specifications.
- Operate production equipment safely and effectively.
- Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials to ensure batches contain the correct ingredients and quantities.
- Assist with in-process testing to ensure batches meet established specifications.
- Support validation of processes and equipment related to filtration, cleaning, and sterilization.
- Create and prepare solutions, powders, and liquids used in batch manufacturing.
- Safely remove and dispose of waste chemicals, solvents, acids, and other regulated materials.
- Provide training support for new employees, onboarding activities, and newly implemented procedures.
- Support the lead or supervisor with operational activities as needed.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Follow established procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Work overtime as required to meet business and production needs.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a regulated environment.
- Associate's degree in a scientific discipline may be considered in place of experience.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Ability to work safely with chemicals, solvents, and acids.
- Ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment and consistently follow GMP requirements.
