Description:
About the Role
At Corus Medical, we believe care is more than clinical — it’s human. As a Palliative Nurse Practitioner, you’ll step into patients’ lives during some of their most vulnerable moments, helping them navigate serious illness with clarity, comfort, and dignity.
This is a field-based role in Albuquerque where you’ll provide home- and community-based care, working with a collaborative interdisciplinary team while maintaining a high level of autonomy in your daily practice. If you’re driven by meaningful patient impact, value flexibility, and are confident managing complex clinical situations, this role offers both purpose and professional fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive palliative care assessments addressing physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs
- Manage complex symptoms such as pain, dyspnea, nausea, and fatigue using evidence-based approaches
- Lead goals-of-care conversations, including advance care planning and end-of-life decision support
- Collaborate closely with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other team members to deliver coordinated care
- Evaluate and facilitate appropriate transitions to home health or hospice services
- Document care plans and clinical decisions accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards
Requirements:
What We’re Looking For
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New Mexico
- MSN or DNP from an accredited program; board certification (FNP, AGPCNP, or equivalent) required
- Prior hospice experience at some point in your nursing career
- Strong clinical judgment and confidence managing complex symptom burden
- Ability to navigate emotionally sensitive conversations with empathy and clarity
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across interdisciplinary teams
- A patient-centered mindset and the ability to work independently with accountability
Why Join Us
At Corus Medical, you’re not just stepping into a role — you’re joining a mission: to bring out the courage in others.
You’ll be supported by strong, values-driven leadership and a team that prioritizes trust, collaboration, and compassionate care. We offer:
- Flexible scheduling that respects your autonomy and work-life balance
- Comprehensive healthcare benefits
- A culture grounded in integrity, teaching, and teamwork
- The opportunity to make a lasting difference in patients’ lives every single day
This is work that asks a lot of you — clinically and emotionally. But it also gives back: deeper connection, meaningful impact, and the chance to help patients and families find clarity and courage when it matters most.
