AES Building Services is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support
commercial and industrial customers across a broad range of facilities, including multi-story
buildings and healthcare environments. This is a hands-on service role for a technician who can
diagnose complex equipment issues, communicate clearly with customers, and complete
dependable work without sales pressure.
What You Will Do
Perform preventive maintenance and respond to service calls for rooftop units, split systems,
boilers, chillers, air handlers, VAV systems, pumps, cooling towers, unit heaters, exhaust
systems, and related controls.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, hydronic, combustion, airflow, and control-
system problems and complete safe, effective repairs.
Read and interpret wiring and ladder diagrams, control sequences, equipment manuals,
mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
Use HVAC diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters,
manometers, pressure gauges, vacuum pumps, recovery equipment, combustion analyzers,
airflow instruments, and temperature probes.
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance thoroughly, identify developing issues, and
recommend appropriate repair, maintenance, or replacement options.
Document findings, work completed, parts used, equipment condition, and recommendations
accurately and on time.
Explain technical findings and repair options clearly to customers, facility personnel, dispatch,
and internal service teams.
Prioritize service calls, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing customer, dispatch, and
emergency-service needs.
Follow company safety procedures and applicable environmental and refrigerant-handling
requirements.
Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation for emergency service needs.
Required Qualifications
At least three years of related commercial HVAC service experience. Five years is preferred.
Experience working in commercial facilities. Experience in multi-story buildings or healthcare
environments is valuable.
EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
Valid Ohio driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Associate degree, trade school training, an approved apprenticeship, or equivalent related work
experience.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment independently.
Strong customer communication, documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
Ability to work safely from ladders or lifts, access rooftops and mechanical rooms, work in
confined or elevated spaces, lift and carry tools and materials, and work in indoor, outdoor, and
seasonal conditions.
Preferred Experience
Building automation or building management systems, including control troubleshooting.
Commercial hydronic systems, refrigeration, combustion equipment, or industrial ventilation.
Factory training or certifications from manufacturers such as Trane, Carrier, Daikin, or York.
Commercial field-service software and mobile work-order documentation.
Compensation and Support
The base pay range is $28.00-$33.00 per hour, based on experience.
Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person field position with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek. Service calls are
primarily handled during normal business hours. Technicians also participate in a rotating after-
hours on-call schedule, with overtime eligibility.
