A Snapshot of Your Day
As Production Supervisor on the 1st shift within the CoC
Exciter manufacturing unit, you will own operational performance and
leadership of the manufacturing of Exciters/Collectors and the in-process testing of large generator components. To
ensure consistent output and team performance, the role is structured around
three core areas: direct team leadership and supervision, management of
production operations and execution, and oversight of safety, quality, and
continuous improvement initiatives. These focus areas collectively ensure that
the 1st shift meets its production, safety, and quality objectives. Given the
emphasis on independent shift management and process oversight, this role
requires significant experience in a manufacturing environment, demonstrated
leadership capabilities, and a strong background in production planning and
Lean manufacturing principles. A proven record of upholding safety and quality
standards is essential for success in this role.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Lead and develop the production team by providing direct
supervision, coaching performance, addressing employee concerns, and fostering
a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily production operations to ensure safety,
quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved while
maintaining uninterrupted workflow and operational excellence.
• Plan employee schedules, allocate labor resources
effectively, and coordinate seamless shift transitions to maximize productivity
and workforce efficiency.
• Serve as the primary operational leader during the shift,
making timely, independent decisions to resolve personnel, production, process,
and equipment-related challenges.
• Champion compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety
(EHS) requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company quality
standards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
• Partner with maintenance and cross-functional support
teams to troubleshoot issues, minimize downtime, and drive sustainable
performance improvements through Lean manufacturing principles, root cause
analysis, and data-driven decision-making
What You Bring
• Associates degree or higher preferred; equivalent
combinations of education, training, and relevant professional experience will
also be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production
environment, including demonstrated success in a direct supervisory or team
leadership role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving
skills, with the ability to drive accountability, manage workflow, influence
teams, and effectively resolve operational challenges.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing operations, including
production planning, Lean manufacturing principles, Good Manufacturing
Practices (GMP), SAP applications, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such
as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or 5S, with the ability to leverage root
cause analysis and data-driven decision-making to improve performance.
• Proven commitment to safety and quality, including
experience with quality control processes, Environmental, Health & Safety
(EHS) requirements, and adherence to established manufacturing standards;
candidates may be considered for different levels based on experience.
