A local custom metals shop is currently seeking qualified Manual Machinists.
Responsibilities:
Operate table router & orbital sander to finish metal parts
Additional Responsibilities may include:
Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines - We have Southwestern Industries mills and lathes
Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production
Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task
Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary
Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
Maintains a safe and clean workstation
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
R&D and prototype small batch projects
Support our Sheet Metal and Misc. Metals shop needs
Qualifications:
Experience in machining w/ steel, aluminum, and stainless steel preferred
Ability to follow work orders and work in teams
ProtoTrak control experience a plus!
Experience with Southwestern knee mills and lathes a plus!
Ability to read and interpret designs/blueprints
Ability to perform physical labor and lift at least 50 pounds
Ability to work standing for an 8-hour shift
Knowledge of various steels and alloys, NDE processes and requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Valid Driver's license required
Must pass pre-employment testing to include background checks and drug screen
