We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Order Picker / Forklift Operator to join our warehouse operations team. This role is essential to maintaining efficient inventory flow, accurate order fulfillment, and safe food handling practices. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering accuracy and quality in every task.
What You'll Do
Duties and Responsibilities
- Shipping & Receiving
- Prepare products for shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move, lift, and transfer materials.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, completeness, and condition.
- Verify quantities against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Ensure refrigerated and frozen products are received at proper temperatures.
- Follow established shipping and receiving procedures.
- Report shipment discrepancies and damaged products to appropriate personnel.
- Inventory Control & Warehouse Coordination
- Maintain accurate records of incoming, outgoing, and internal shipments.
- Count, track, and reconcile inventory.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the Purchasing Department of low inventory.
- Check expiration dates, lot numbers, and product rotation requirements.
- Perform regular inventory checks to support timely customer deliveries.
- Report inventory discrepancies and stock issues.
- Order Picking & Fulfillment
- Pick products accurately based on daily production or customer requirements.
- Verify correct items, quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
- Stage and organize orders for distribution and delivery.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all orders before shipment.
- Food Safety & Quality Assurance
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Prevent cross-contamination between products.
- Follow allergen-control protocols.
- Inspect products for spoilage, contamination, damage, or quality concerns.
- Maintain compliance with food-handling standards and company policies.
- Temperature Monitoring & Storage
- Monitor refrigerated, frozen, and dry storage areas.
- Record and maintain required temperature logs.
- Report temperature deviations immediately.
- Ensure products are stored within safe temperature ranges.
- Maintain bulk product storage areas as needed.
- Transportation & Delivery
- Operate a company box truck to transport products between warehouse locations and long-term cold storage facilities.
- Pick up food products from off-site cold storage and safely deliver them to the warehouse.
- Unload, and secure products to prevent damage during transport.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and required documentation.
- Ensure products are transported and handled in compliance with food safety and temperature-control requirements.
- Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT), state, and company driving regulations.
- Maintain a safe driving record and operate company vehicles in a professional manner.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
- Practice safe material handling and lifting techniques.
- Maintain the highest level of safety while operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Assist with general warehouse maintenance and housekeeping.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MUST be certified in warehouse machinery (forklift and pallet jack).
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver's License. DOT Health card, Valid Forklift/Pallet Jack Certification.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
