Job Title: Quality Inspector - Machining (2nd Shift)
Shift: 2nd Shift; Monday-Friday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Pay Range: $19.00 - $24.00/hr, Depending upon experience
Shift Differential: $0.75 per hour
Experience: 3+ years of practical in-process and final inspection of complex machined parts, preferred but nor required. Willing to train exceptional candidate.
Job Duties:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on large aluminium machined parts. (<20+ feet)
- Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, industry standards, and specifications.
- Read and interpret models (Catia), Drawings, and Parts lists
- Apply attention to detail to Drawings, Production Processes, Work Orders, etc
- Verifies completion of Quality documents and accurate representation of product flow throughout the process
- Use measuring tools such as calliper's, micrometer, height gage, and dial indicators as needed
- Create NCRs as needed if parts are non-conforming.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment, preferred
- Experience with aerospace machining inspection, preferred
- Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work on a team as well as independently.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must be dependable and have reliable transportation to work.
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications.
- Must be able to read, analyse, and interpret blueprints, and general procedures.
- Must be able to interpret and understand OEM specifications
- Knowledge of measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, callipers, height gages, Isoscope etc.)
- Detail oriented, team player, and very organized with the ability to multi-task
- Comprehension of machining process
- Flexible schedule to work overtime and shift work as needed
- Flexible to assist other departments as needed.
Working Conditions:
- The essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, and to walk for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others in the office.
- Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve files and other items.
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Writing to complete reports and service requests.
- Occasionally Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs.
- Must be able to wear safety PPE equipment, as required. Noise levels may require hearing protection.
