International Sales has an opening for a Business Development Executive II Specialty to be based in our Paris office.
To support the continued business growth of our Specialty Industries in EMEA, we seek a highly motivated and driven individual to be part of the New Business Development team. Reporting to our Staff VP, Global Sales, EMEA and APAC. This individual will be responsible for growing the Specialty Industries book including Chemical, Renewables and Forest Products business.
In this position, the individual will be expected to solicit new business both directly with prospective clients, as well as in collaboration with key broker partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve new business objectives as established by the Regional Sales Manager;
- Develop strategy and complete call plans / reports to ensure that all prospects’ information and documentation are updated in SRS (Strategic Relationship System);
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with prospective clients and brokers to successfully create continuous new business opportunities;
- Manage new business opportunities by continuously developing prospects;
- Maintain an active involvement in the local insurance and brokerage community by participating in meetings, conferences and industry-related functions;
- Maintain a thorough understanding of competitors’ products, services, current pricing strategy and practices.
Qualifications:
Qualification and Skills Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline;
- At least 10 years’ working experience in risk management, loss prevention engineering, claims or underwriting;
- Experience in the broader insurance industry is desired but not essential;
- Knowledge of sales processes (prospecting, nurturing, follow-up, follow-through, negotiating, closing) and proven sales experience is a plus;
- Ability to develop strong relationships with clients;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French or other European languages are an advantage;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including facilitating and presentation skills;
- Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills;
- Technology and social media savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft office software.
