Job Description
UMMC Midtown Campus THRIVE Center is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work in a busy academic outpatient practice that specializes in the care of patients with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and other Infectious Diseases. You will be responsible in this setting to provide direct care and care coordination for an assigned group of patients on his/her care team. THRIVE nurses work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary group of physicians, advanced practice providers, social work, pharmacists, medical assistants and administrative staff to provide compassionate and comprehensive care for our vulnerable population.
Nurses utilize the nursing process in the delivery of care to prioritize patient needs. Services include but are not limited to care coordination and navigation services, communicating with infusions companies and home health services, coordinating and scheduling imaging studies, in person and telephone triage of patient, infusion therapy, monitoring of patients post initiation of specialty medications, discharge follow-up calls and assessment, medication administration, arranging tunneled central line removal, and patient education. THRIVE nurses are essential to improving chronic disease outcomes and reducing hospital utilization and readmissions for our patients.
Work Experience Education & Experience
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.; BSN preferred. Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
One year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills. Solid knowledge and OPAT clinical skills.
Current CPR certification required.
Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
Member in a professional organization is preferred.
Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.
***RN experience in an ambulatory setting or care coordination is a plus.

Full-Time
Pay Range: $39.35- $54.05
