Medical Device Assembly Technician

GAP-FLEX® is a San Antonio-based medical device company seeking a Medical Device Assembly Technician to perform hands-on assembly of our rehabilitation device used to support patients recovering from total knee replacement.
This is an assembly technician position, not a warehouse or general labor role. The primary focus of this position is assembling medical device components, following detailed work instructions, inspecting parts and completed assemblies, performing basic quality and functional checks, and accurately documenting production activities.
We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with their hands and basic tools. Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, mechanical or electromechanical work, engineering technology, electronics, quality, or another hands-on technical environment is preferred.
Medical device experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train candidates who have strong hands-on technical skills, can follow precise processes, and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will work directly with our product and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include:
- Assemble medical device components using documented work instructions and procedures.
- Use basic hand tools and assembly equipment to complete production tasks.
- Inspect components and finished devices for defects, fit, function, and quality.
- Perform basic functional testing and quality checks.
- Follow drawings, diagrams, work instructions, SOPs, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Accurately document production activities, including lot and serial-number traceability.
- Identify and report defective, damaged, or nonconforming components.
- Assist with labeling, packaging, inventory, and preparation of finished devices.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and controlled production workspace.
- Support troubleshooting and process improvements as experience develops.
- Assist with additional manufacturing and production responsibilities as GAP-FLEX continues to grow.

Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Comfortable working with your hands and using basic tools.
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and established processes.
- Ability to perform repetitive assembly work while maintaining consistent quality.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-Time
- On-Site in San Antonio, Texas
- $18.00–$21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Typical starting compensation is expected to fall within the $18.00–$20.00/hour range, depending on experience.
Employees may be reviewed within the first 60–90 days based on performance, reliability, quality, documentation accuracy, independence, and ability to support additional production responsibilities.
