Medical Device Production Operator / Assembler
Location: Sylmar, CA
Pay Rate: $21.50/hr.
Shift: 1st Shift — 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Experience: Medical device experience preferred, but not required. Assembly/ machine operator experience required.
Job Summary
We are seeking an entry-level Medical Device Production Operator / Assembler to support the manufacturing and processing of medical devices in a fast-paced production environment. This position will work on an assembly line performing production, inspection, cleaning, and kit preparation activities. Responsibilities include decontamination of external medical devices using alcohol wipes, working with HLA and Return Kits, following detailed work instructions, and identifying issues with products or processes.
Medical device manufacturing experience is desired but not required. This is a great opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, production, assembly, packaging, quality inspection, or other hands-on experience who are interested in entering the medical device industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform production and assembly-line activities for medical device products according to established procedures and work instructions.
- Perform decontamination of external medical devices using alcohol wipes and approved cleaning procedures.
- Assemble, prepare, inspect, and process HLA and Return Kits according to established requirements.
- Follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
- Inspect products and components during production to identify defects, damage, contamination, or other quality concerns.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic product, assembly, or equipment issues and escalate unresolved problems to the appropriate supervisor or team member.
- Perform repetitive assembly and production tasks while maintaining consistent quality and productivity.
- Accurately complete required production records, documentation, labels, and other manufacturing paperwork.
- Maintain proper identification and handling of materials throughout the production process.
- Follow all applicable quality, safety, cleanliness, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly workstation and production area.
- Communicate production issues, quality concerns, and material needs to supervisors or other team members.
- Work effectively as part of a production team to meet daily manufacturing goals.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new assembly processes, equipment, procedures, and medical device products.
- Perform other production and assembly-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Medical device manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Entry-level candidates with a strong work history and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, packaging, quality inspection, warehouse, or other hands-on environments is a plus.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Comfortable working on an assembly line/production line.
- Ability to recognize and report product or process issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Fast-paced medical device manufacturing/production environment.
- Work may involve prolonged standing and repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Frequent handling of small components and medical device products.
- Requires attention to detail during assembly, cleaning, inspection, and kit preparation.
- Employees must follow established cleanliness, safety, and PPE requirements.
- Training will be provided on specific medical device processes and procedures.
