Pride Health is hiring an
Associate Patient Care Coordinator to support our client’s medical facility in
New York, NY 10016. This is a
3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!
Specific Duties:- This position supports daily clinic operations and contributes to organizational success by providing excellent patient service, maintaining accurate records, coordinating appointments, and ensuring an efficient patient experience.
- Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Verify insurance coverage on the date of service.
- Obtain patient signatures on required forms and documents.
- File, fax, scan, and maintain medical records.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls professionally and courteously.
- Follow Optum Medical payment security policies and procedures.
- Maintain work queues and complete pending actions, including referrals and appointment scheduling.
- Check patients in and out for appointments.
- Manage and monitor the front desk in-basket pool.
- Complete referral documentation accurately and promptly.
- Coordinate specialist appointments and follow-up services for patients.
- Adhere to Optum policies and standards outlined in Sparq.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Support continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and healthcare team members.
- Follow administrative policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care.
- Scan, upload, and route documents to the appropriate electronic medical record.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
- Cross-train and provide coverage at other clinic locations as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service environment, with:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail
- Customer service experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with scheduling systems and electronic medical records preferred
