It provides radiography (film and digital, lab and field), ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, visual inspection, hardness testing, PMI, leak detection, and related quality services to the refining, chemical processing, and power industries.
An NDT Level II role there is a hands-on field and shop technician position focused on performing and evaluating inspections to codes such as ASME, AWS, and API. The company has posted specifically for multi-certified Level II technicians, with a strong emphasis on ultrasonic weld inspection plus supporting methods and radiation safety.

NDT Level II Technician (often listed as NDT Level II UT Technician)
Core Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasonic testing (straight-beam and shear-wave/angle-beam) to detect flaws, lack of fusion, cracks, and other discontinuities in welds, pipe, plate, castings, forgings, and structural materials.
Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment according to approved procedures, codes, and customer specifications. - Interpret and evaluate results against acceptance criteria (ASME Section V/VIII, AWS D1.1, API 1104/650/653, ASTM, or client specs).
- Prepare accurate inspection reports with documentation, sketches, photos, and recommendations.
- Maintain and document equipment calibration and care.
- Provide on-the-job guidance to Level I technicians and assistants.
- Support other methods as certified (MT, PT, VT, or RT) and assist radiographic work while following radiation safety rules.
- Work in shop, plant, and field environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varying weather.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and quality staff; support audits and procedure reviews.
Typical Requirements
- Current ASNT SNT-TC-1A (or equivalent) Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing, with verifiable training and experience hours.
- At least one additional current Level II certification in MT, PT, VT, or RT.
- Documented 40-hour industrial radiography radiation safety training; IRRSP card, Texas radiographer license, or RT Level II preferred because radiography is a core GCT service.
Hands-on experience with UT flaw detection on welds. - Knowledge of relevant codes and ability to read drawings and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred).
- Valid driver’s license, ability to pass drug screen and background check.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lb equipment, climb, work in confined spaces or at heights, and operate in industrial plants.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts, and travel as projects require.
Preferred extras often include multi-method certifications, PAUT/TOFD experience, oil-and-gas or power-plant background, TWIC card, and OSHA safety training.

Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel. Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection. May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes. May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds. Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively.
