Job Title: Electronics Engineer Technician
Location: Missoula, MT (100% Onsite)

Job Summary
Join the National Technology and Development Program (NTDP) in Missoula, MT, to play a vital role in advancing national wildfire response capabilities. You will be responsible for the electronic design, development, and testing of specialized systems, sensors, and instrumentation supporting next-generation Wildfire Chemical and Air Tanker operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Circuit Prototyping: Perform electronic circuit design, PCB layout, prototyping, and hands-on assembly of test fixtures.
- Testing & Diagnostics: Conduct troubleshooting, testing, and calibration of electronic systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and analyzers.
- System Integration: Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electronic components into larger mechanical platforms.
- Documentation & Safety: Author and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety logs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related field with 5+ years of design and testing experience, OR 10+ years of professional electronic design, prototyping, and testing experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of circuit theory, PCB CAD layout software, and test equipment operation. Experience with communications or sensors is a plus.
- Physical Demands: Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs and spending extended periods standing or walking.
- Security Clearance: Must pass a federal background check to obtain credentials (Linc Pass)
