Must-haves:
- 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience focused on building electrical systems
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer license in Michigan
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 / NEC and IEEE standards
- Extensive electrical power distribution design experience
- Experience designing switchgear, transformers, panelboards, generators, grounding systems, and related electrical equipment
- Experience leading mid-sized and large engineering projects
- Strong QA/QC and design review experience
- Ability to serve as Engineer of Record
- Experience coordinating designs with architects, engineers, contractors, and other disciplines
- Proficiency with electrical design and analysis software
Nice-to-have skills or certifications:
- Revit

- EasyPower

- Experience mentoring junior engineers and designers

Job overview and responsibilities:
MEP Resources is partnering with a respected Engineering & Design firm to identify an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership across building electrical projects, oversee designers and junior engineers, perform QA/QC reviews, and support complex portions of the electrical design process.
The position will serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects and will be responsible for reviewing electrical design packages, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, developing project work plans and man-hour budgets, and coordinating designs across multiple engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities also include designing and reviewing electrical power generation and distribution systems, lighting, fire alarm, security, and access control systems; resolving technical project issues; collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors; mentoring junior staff; and supporting proposals and business development efforts.
