The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for the overall quality of Skyway’s raw material and outside service suppliers, with a focus on supplier development. The main goal of the SQE position is to put controls and procedures in place to ensure that Skyway consistently receives conforming product, on schedule.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
▪ Target Supplier improvement projects with the data derived from plant feedback and Skyway’s reporting system and develop corrective action plans with suppliers.
▪ Maintain an approved supplier database as it pertains to quality, delivery and reaction to non conformance. Follow up on all supplier responsible corrective actions.
▪ Conduct on-site supplier audits and visit suppliers on a schedule that is based on supplier performance and impact to Skyway.
▪ Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and report them monthly as part of Skyway’s measurables.
▪ Communicate with the plant managers daily to provide support on any problems they have with material.
▪ Review all Supplier PPAP submissions to ensure adherence to Skyway and Customer requirements prior to release to Manufacturing and Quality Departments.
▪ Audit Quality System Processes to ensure it meets the IATF16949, ISO14001, CQI, customer specific requirements and standards that Skyway Precision subscribes.
▪ Audit the manufacturing processes to ensure it meets internal, IATF16949, ISO14001, CQI and customer specific requirements.
▪ Assist Skyway’s quality team with customer concerns when necessary.
▪ Develop the checks and balances in order to be the conduit between Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality.
▪ Support Compliance with Skyway Precision, Inc.’s Quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949 & ISO
14001).
▪ Perform special assignments as delegated.

10+ years of experience in the Quality and Manufacturing fields.
Must have a strong background in foundry materials, process, practices & defects.
