Part-Time Nurse Practitioner – Contract Position

GastroCare of El Paso is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our gastroenterology practice on a part-time contract basis. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable working collaboratively with a physician and clinical support team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal and liver-related conditions
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
- Prescribe medications within the provider’s authorized scope of practice
- Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, and follow-up care
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Review test results and communicate recommendations to patients
- Coordinate care with specialists, primary care providers, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow all applicable clinical, HIPAA, and practice policies
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses
- Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current BLS certification
- Prescriptive authority and DEA registration, as applicable to the position
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising physician and clinical team
- Gastroenterology, hepatology, internal medicine, or primary care experience is preferred but not required
- Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred but not required
Position Details

- Schedule and number of clinic days to be mutually agreed upon
