Pay: $22.00/hour
Training Schedule: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM for the first couple of weeks
Regular Schedule: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Masker to join our manufacturing team in Billerica, MA. The Masker prepares parts for coating and finishing operations by applying and removing masking materials to protect designated surfaces.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work. Previous manufacturing, masking, painting, or coating experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Apply masking materials such as tape, caps, plugs, and custom masks to parts before coating or finishing.
- Remove masking materials after coating without damaging finished surfaces.
- Inspect parts before and after masking to ensure proper coverage and quality.
- Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and process documentation.
- Handle parts carefully to prevent contamination, scratches, or surface damage.
- Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Support production goals while maintaining expected quality and daily output.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in masking, painting, coating, manufacturing, or a similar environment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Comfortable working with small or intricate parts.
- Ability to read and follow basic work instructions and measurements.
- Reliable and able to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Good vision, with or without corrective lenses, for inspecting small parts and masked areas.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Employees may work around coatings, solvents, masking materials, and other manufacturing materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
