Wire Technician
Job Summary
The Wire Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical components and equipment according to electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and production specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely with electrical components and hand tools.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Cut, strip, route, label, and terminate electrical wires and cables.
- Install and connect terminals, connectors, switches, and other electrical components.
- Assemble and wire electrical equipment according to established specifications.
- Use hand tools and power tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, cutters, screwdrivers, and torque tools.
- Perform continuity and basic electrical testing using a multimeter and other testing equipment.
- Inspect wiring and finished assemblies for proper connections, routing, labeling, and workmanship.
- Identify and correct wiring errors or assembly issues.
- Maintain accurate and organized wiring while working with multiple circuits and components.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Meet production, quality, and accuracy requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in electrical wiring, electrical assembly, panel wiring, cable assembly, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience using wire strippers, crimpers, cutters, and other electrical hand tools.
- Basic understanding of electrical components and wiring practices.
- Ability to use a multimeter for basic electrical testing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks.
- Ability to lift, stand, bend, and work with tools and materials throughout the shift.
