Job Overview
We are a small business seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician/ foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in both residential and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, blueprints, and schematics, as well as proficiency with various tools and equipment. The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations are safe, efficient, and compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with NEC standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools.
- Work with high voltage systems as well as low voltage applications.
- Collaborate with construction teams on-site to ensure timely project completion.
- Renovate existing electrical systems to improve functionality or comply with updated codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Completed apprentice program and/or Journeyman Electrician License.
- Proven experience in the electrical trade with a strong understanding of NEC regulations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics related to electrical systems.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety practices.
- Familiarity with high voltage and low voltage systems is preferred.
- Ability to use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
