About the Role
Our electricians are the backbone of Xlectrical's reputation. They are the face our clients see, the hands that make every installation code-compliant and built to last, and the professionals who turn a service call into a lasting relationship.
We are hiring a Journeyman Electrician who can run both sides of our business — residential service and light-to-mid commercial — without being told how. Someone who walks a job, sizes it up, prices it right, does it clean, and explains it to the customer in plain English.
This is not an entry-level role. We expect experience, ownership, and pride in craft.
What You'll Do
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems in strict adherence to the National Electrical Code and the Florida Building Code.
- Run assigned jobs from start to finish with minimal supervision — materials, sequence, quality, and cleanup.
- Test and verify panels, circuits, devices, and equipment to confirm safe, effective, code-compliant work.
- Perform detailed inspections, identifying and resolving damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards with precision.
- Build accurate, itemized estimates from a complete site assessment.
- Communicate scope, findings, and recommendations to homeowners, property managers, GCs, and inspectors — clearly, confidently, and in English.
- Mentor apprentices and helpers assigned to your jobs, and hold them to the same standard.
- Keep a clean, organized, safe job site. You represent the brand every time you park the truck.
- Document completed work accurately in our field systems.
- Coordinate proactively with dispatch and project managers on scheduling, materials, and client expectations.
Residential Work
Panel upgrades and service changes · whole-home rewires and additions · EV charger installations · Tesla Powerwall and smart panels · standby generators · lighting, devices, and circuits · diagnostic troubleshooting.
Commercial Work
Tenant improvements and build-outs · commercial panels and distribution · 3-phase and 277/480V systems · EMT and rigid conduit installation · lighting retrofits · code corrections · commercial service calls.
What We're Looking For
License & Experience
- Journeyman Electrician Certificate of Competency from Broward, Miami-Dade, or Palm Beach County strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of professional field experience in residential and commercial electrical work.
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record — a company vehicle will be assigned to you.
- Own hand tools. We supply power tools, test equipment, ladders, and materials.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Technical Expertise
- Strong, demonstrable command of residential electrical service work.
- Solid working competency in commercial electrical — you can pull a job in an occupied tenant space and get it inspected the first time.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and the judgment to apply it in the field without calling for help on routine decisions.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and load calculations.
Communication & Professionalism
- Advanced English — spoken and written — is required. You will deal directly with clients, homeowners, property managers, and inspectors. Clear, confident communication is non-negotiable.
