The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide essential nursing care in a nursing home setting, focusing on geriatric, general adult, and specialized patient populations. This role involves supporting registered nurses and the healthcare team by delivering high-quality patient care, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing wound care. The LPN will report to the Nurse Manager and participate in shift work to ensure continuous patient support and safety.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care tailored to geriatric and specialized populations
- Administer medications accurately and safely
- Monitor and record vital signs regularly
- Provide wound care and monitor healing progress
- Maintain detailed patient documentation
- Assist registered nurses with clinical tasks and procedures
- Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment
- Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) when necessary
- Support elder care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's patient care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of practical nursing experience
- Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in patient assessment and medication administration
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Experience in vital signs monitoring and wound care
- Expertise in dementia and Alzheimer's care
