LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Trauma Surgery PA in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, 17701!
We are seeking a Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant to provide essential inpatient coverage for our client in Pennsylvania. This 180-day assignment, starting Dec 23, 2026, involves day shifts from 7a-7p. Responsibilities include daily rounds, first assisting in the operating room, managing new consults, overseeing inpatient services, and responding to trauma activations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide inpatient coverage for Trauma and Emergency General Surgery services.
- Perform morning rounds followed by first assisting in the operating room, including robotics cases.
- Manage new Emergency General Surgery consults and the inpatient service.
- Handle trauma activations and critical care management.
- Perform bedside procedures such as I&Ds, laceration repairs, chest tube placement, and central line placement.
- Manage various cases including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, trauma ex lap, colon resections, graham patch repairs, and hernia repairs.

- Board certification in General Surgery required.
- EMR System: Epic
- Setting: Inpatient
- Average daily census: 20 patients
- Average daily admissions: 5 (day), 2-5 (night)
- Average daily consults: less than 10 (day), more than 5 (night)
- Average daily cases: 3 (day), 1 (night)
- Staffing mix: 2 APPs during the day, 1 APP at night, collaborating with Trauma/Acute Care Surgeons.
