About the Position
LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Gastroenterology MD in Boise, Idaho, 83702!
We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist to join our client in Idaho for a 248-day assignment starting Nov 9, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive gastroenterology services, including various colonoscopy and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures, clinical and surgical care, and consultative services during shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide clinical and surgical gastroenterology services.
- Perform a full range of colonoscopy procedures including via colostomy, with biopsy(ies), ablation, or removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forcep or snare technique.
- Conduct Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures including diagnostic, with biopsy(ies), or removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forcep or snare technique.
- Deliver consultative services at the patient’s bedside for non-ambulatory patients and in the clinic setting for ambulatory patients, scheduling procedures for completion within 30 days of the consult date.
- Ensure timely communication of test results in accordance with VHA Directive 1088.
- Adhere to all established medication policies and procedures.
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting for all gastroenterology patients.
