WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate opportunity in a busy ambulatory surgical setting in Westchester County. This role offers a consistent daytime schedule with no evenings and the flexibility of either 8-hour or 10-hour shifts. The position is four days per week.
Responsibilities
- Document patient care accurately, thoroughly, and promptly within the facility's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures and assist with room turnover between cases.
- Assist with patient positioning and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the perioperative process.
- Maintain proper handling, labeling, and documentation of surgical specimens.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
- Identify and implement corrective actions when necessary to support patient safety and operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all infection control, regulatory, and facility policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of one year of Operating Room nursing experience required.
- Experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory surgery setting preferred.
- Experience with Centricity EMR preferred.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and/or Pediatrics.
- Ambulatory surgery center experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative surgical team.
