About the Role:
Garbarino Construction Inc is looking for a skilled Welder to join our growing team in Chesapeake, VA. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on exciting construction projects where your craftsmanship and attention to detail will make a real impact. Responsibilities:
- Perform stick welding on structural and fabricated metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
- Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications
- Operate cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with OSHA standards
- Collaborate with construction crews to meet project timelines and deadlines
- Perform routine maintenance and inspection of welding equipment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Welder in a construction or industrial environment
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, flux-core, and/or stick welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical welding diagrams
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe welding practices
- AWS certification or equivalent welding certification preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at various heights
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a team-first attitude
