Residential Wireman Electrician – 4-Day Workweek | Crew Lead Development

About the Position
True Electric Services LLC is hiring a full-time Texas Residential Wireman Electrician to join our residential installation team and develop into the lead electrician for a two-person installation crew.
We are looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in residential electrical work but wants to continue developing their technical skills, leadership ability, and independence.
This is a growth position with a defined path toward Crew Lead.
Starting pay is $23–$27 per hour based on experience and current skill level, with the opportunity for increased compensation as you demonstrate the ability to independently lead residential installation projects and a two-person crew.
We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to be dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and someone who takes pride in doing quality work.
4-Day Workweek
True Electric Services is transitioning to a 4-day, 10-hour workweek beginning in early September 2026.
The regular schedule will be:
Wednesday–Saturday
8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
1-hour unpaid lunch
40 hours per week
That means three consecutive days off every week: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
Our current schedule during the transition period is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be available or required depending on project and customer needs. Overtime must be approved in advance.
Approved overtime is paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
What You'll Do
You'll work with our residential installation team on projects including:
Panel upgrades and replacements
Generator installations
EV charger installations
Residential remodels
New and dedicated circuits
Outlets and switches
Lighting and fixture installations
Ceiling fans
Smoke and CO detectors
Bathroom exhaust fans and vent hoods
Electrical repairs
Troubleshooting and diagnostics
Other residential electrical installations and improvements
You'll also be responsible for helping with:
Reviewing job scopes before work begins
Planning installations
Determining and organizing required materials
Material pickup
Jobsite setup and cleanup
Maintaining an organized work vehicle
Before, progress, and completion photos
Accurate job documentation
Preparing work for inspection
Protecting customers' homes and property
Communicating professionally with homeowners and the office
Grow Into a Crew Lead
Our goal is to train the right person to become a Crew Lead responsible for independently running a two-person residential installation crew.
As you develop, we'll expect you to become capable of:
Reviewing and understanding the complete scope of work
Planning an installation from start to finish
Identifying required materials before and during a project
Directing and training an apprentice/helper
Assigning work efficiently
Maintaining a safe and organized jobsite
Ensuring work complies with applicable electrical codes and Company standards
Maintaining high-quality workmanship
Keeping projects moving efficiently
Communicating job progress and problems with the office
Communicating professionally with homeowners
Completing required job documentation and photos
Preparing jobs for inspection
Identifying problems before they cause callbacks or delays
Taking ownership of a project from start through completion
Advancement is based on demonstrated ability—not simply time with the Company.
Employees who demonstrate the technical ability, reliability, judgment, leadership, and professionalism necessary to independently run a two-person crew will have the opportunity to advance to Crew Lead with increased compensation based on the position and responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
Required
Current Texas Residential Wireman License
Valid driver's license
Residential electrical experience
Working knowledge of residential electrical systems
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Ability to safely use electrical tools and testing equipment
Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential electrical work
Reliable transportation to the designated reporting location
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
Ability to use mobile technology for job documentation
Willingness to learn and accept feedback

Compensation
$23–$27 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill level.
Employees are paid bi-weekly through direct deposit.
Approved overtime is paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
This position includes a path toward increased compensation upon advancement to Crew Lead.

Paid Time Off
Eligible full-time hourly employees begin accruing PTO after completing their introductory period.
PTO increases with years of service:
Year 1: 40 hours
Year 2: 48 hours
Year 3: 56 hours
Year 4: 64 hours
Year 5: 72 hours
Year 6+: 80 hours
