WCS Healthcare is currently partnering with a psychiatric hospital in Staten Island, NY, seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support its Adult Mental Health population.We are seeking compassionate and dedicated LPNs with at least one (1) year of experience working with adult mental health patients. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative behavioral health team and provide direct patient care in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
Position Details
- Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

- Patient Population: Adult Mental Health
- Schedule: Five (5) shifts per week
- Shifts Available:
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses and physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
- Observe, assess, and document patient behaviors, symptoms, and treatment responses.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for patients.
Requirements
- Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the Adult Mental Health population.
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Strong communication, observational, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.
